If you also have the Heredis software on your Windows computer, you can transfer your genealogy file from your mobile device to your computer.
N.B.: Each version of Heredis has its own file format. This transfer will only work if both the mobile application and the Windows software are in the same version (e.g. Heredis 2024 mobile application to Heredis 204 Windows software) or if you are transferring it to convert it to a higher version (e.g. Heredis 2023 mobile application to Heredis 2024 Windows software).
This transfer method does not allow you to upgrade to a lower version of the software (for example, from the Heredis 2024 mobile application to the Heredis 2023 Windows software).
On the device where your genealogy file is located, open the Heredis application and go to the drop-down menu:
Select Export genealogy :
Follow the instructions to save the file (we advise you not to modify the name and location suggested by the application). Once the export is complete, you can transfer the file in .hmwz format to a cloud or attach it to an e-mail.
On your Windows computer, download the .hmwz file from your cloud or from the e-mail you've sent yourself. Preferably, place it in the default location :
Once the file has been downloaded, open the Heredis software on its home page and select Open a Heredis file :
Change the type of file to be opened by clicking on the drop-down menu and selecting Backup files:
Select your file in .hmwz format and click Open :
