If you have several iOS mobile devices, you can transfer your genealogy file from one device to another.
Just make sure that the mobile application is installed on both devices.
N.B.: If you have several iOS mobile devices, you only need to purchase the application once. Once you've purchased it, you can download it from your AppStore account, no matter which iOS device you're on. See this article for guidance: Reinstalling the mobile application on iOS
Please note that this transfer method does not allow you to downgrade your file to a lower version of the software (for example, from the Heredis 2024 mobile application to the Heredis 2023).
Open Heredis on the device containing your genealogy file, and go to the "Tools" menu:
Select "Export family Tree":
Follow the instructions to export the file.
You can then transfer your genealogy by e-mail or via a Cloud application.
- For an e-mail transfer (file size under 20 MB):
Once the export is complete, go to "Files" and compress the hmwz file:
Once the exported file is compressed, you can transfer the zipped .hmwz file by sending an e-mail to yourself :
=> Go to the end of this article to see what to do on your iOS device.
- To send your file through a Cloud application ( such as iCloud, Google drive, etc....):
Note: compression is not required here, so you can send the file in hmwz format directly.
If the size of your zipped family tree exceeds 20 MB, it may be rejected by your mailbox. In this case, you'll need to send it via a Cloud application, as illustrated below.
As your genealogy is exported, you can send it to iCloud.
=======
Alternatively, you could upload your file to Google drive (or any other Cloud application you may be using):
Download the zipped .hmw file from the email you've received on the iOS device where you want to receive the genealogy file, unzip it and choose Heredis 2024 to open it, as illustrated below.
Please note: the file will open automatically when downloaded from your mailbox.
