As the Gedcom format is not a 100% defined standard, it requires continuous development and improvement, making it difficult to make this format compatible with all genealogy software, as a number of tags can be freely defined by each software publisher.
An error appears during the Gedcom import:
If the error message that appears during the Gedcom import is a red cross on a white background:
- Simply place the Gedcom + the media folder + the Heredis destination file at the root of a hard drive.
- Try importing the Gedcom again.
Inconsistent data following the Gedcom import:
As a potential workaround, you can try importing using Heredis 15.
The demo version of Heredis is sufficient for importing Gedcom and generating the corresponding Heredis file.
