In the world of IT, the term "operating system" (OS) refers to the set of programs that manage the computer's resources.
Every action taken on your computer is continuously controlled by your operating system. It is the operating system that first authorizes the action to be performed and allocates resources for this purpose.
Every year in fall, Apple releases a new operating system. They all have a number and a name to identify them by :
macOS 26 "Tahoe", macOS 15 "Sequoia",macOS 14 "Sonoma", macOS 13 "Ventura", and so on...
By the way, as from Mac OS 10.9 "Mavericks", the names given to Mac OS are based on various locations in the state of California.
Once a new operating system is released, Apple maintains it for about two years. During this period, Apple will offer updates to this operating system in order to correct bugs and keep their OS up to date with current technological developments.
It is very important to install these updates. They are mandatory for your Mac to run smoothly.
Here are the latest updates for Mac OS :
- Tahoe 26.x
- Sequoia 15.x
- Sonoma 14.8
- Ventura 13.7.8
Please take note that virtual machine systems such as Oracle VM Virtual box or Parallels Desktop are not supported. We cannot guarantee that Heredis will run smoothly in an emulated system.

Also know that Apple has stopped updated any of the following systems :
Big Sur (11), Catalina (10.15), Mojave (10.14), High Sierra (10.13), Sierra (10.12), El Capitan (10.11), Yosemite (10.10) and all previous versions.
This doesn't mean that your Mac won't boot up or run anymore, or that you cannot launch recent apps. However, it is highly possible that some apps won't be compatible with these old OS : meaning they might crash, have glitches or some features might not work anymore.
Indeed, as apps and technology are constantly evolving, if your Mac is running an outdated macOS version, you will most likely experience its limitations. This is why it is very important to check if your macOS is compatible or not before buying a product. It is also very critical to check that your Mac OS is up-to-date.
Hence, we provide technical support only if Heredis is installed on your Mac running the latest up-to-date OS and is still supported by Apple, which currently include : Tahoe 26.x und Sequoia 15.x, Sonoma 14.8, Ventura 13.7.8
You can find the details of the updates on the Apple website : https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201222
It is also very important to check on the Apple website if your computer is compatible with your operating system. We will not provide support if your computer is not compatible with your operating system.
