In computing, the term "operating system" (OS) refers to the set of programs that manage the computer's resources.
Every action taken on your computer is continuously controlled by the operating system. It is the operating system that first authorizes the action to be performed and allocates resources for this purpose.
Windows is published by the company Microsoft. Microsoft releases a major version which they support for several years (Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 7, etc. ...). You receive updates every three months, they correct some bugs while maintaining the OS up to date with recent technological developments. Smaller updates are performed much more frequently, some of them are installed "in the background" (i.e., they are installed silently while you are working on your computer without Microsoft informing you beforehand).
Microsoft clearly defines the duration for which the company will provide updates to their operating system. So, no surprises. During this period, Microsoft will offer updates to this operating system in order to correct bugs and adapt the OS to technological developments.
It is very important to install these updates. They are necessary for your Windows OS to run smoothly.
Here are the latest updates for Microsofts' OS which they currently support :
- Windows 11 23H2
- Windows 10 22H2
Please take note that virtual machine systems such as Oracle VM Virtual box or Parallels Desktop are not supported. We cannot guarantee that Heredis will run smoothly in an emulated system.

Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000, NT4, 98 and 95 OS no longer receive updates from Microsoft.
This doesn't mean that your PC won't boot up or run anymore, or that you cannot launch recent apps. However, it is highly possible that some apps won't be compatible with these old OS : meaning they might crash, have glitches or some features might not work anymore.
Indeed, as apps and technology are constantly evolving, if your PC is running on an outdated OS, you will most likely experience its limitations. This is why it is very important to check if your PC is compatible or not before buying a product. It is also very critical to check that your Windows system is up-to-date.
Therefore, we only provide technical support if the software is installed on an up-to-date operating system supported by Microsoft: Windows 11 25H2 and Windows 10 22H2 (*** under certain conditions).
